ABOUT ME

I’m an independent celebrant, certified by the Celebrants Collective.

I really enjoy meeting people of all ages, backgrounds and cultures, which might have something to do with the fact that I have lived in six different countries…

My background is in ‘people’ jobs with a focus on making a difference.  I started out in teaching before changing careers many moons ago to become a community leader in the not-for-profit sector.  And now, as a celebrant, I enjoy the privilege of walking with people at significant moments in their lives and making a difference at the most joyful or difficult of times. It’s the very best job.

The thing I like best about my job is spending time talking to people and finding out what their vision for their day is, and then going away and crafting something that brings that vision to life.  If you’re looking for someone who will really take the time to understand what you want from a ceremony and who will work hard with you to produce it – I would love to talk.

I speak French and can chat (with lots of helpful grimaces and gestures…) in Portuguese – the Brazilian version, Dutch, German and level 1 British Sign Language. So, if you’d like a part of your ceremony in another language, I can make that happen.

I live in Guildford with my husband, three sons, and Flo, the fastest whippet on the planet!

When I’m off duty, you’ll find me cheering on the sideline of a footy or rugby pitch, chasing after Flo in the Surrey Hills, catching up with friends, listening to a podcast, cooking BIG meals, and walking everywhere fast.

I hate having cold feet, people talking to me with headphones in (all my sons…) and ticking clocks. I love porridge, all things Kiwi (after 10 years living in NZ), Dolly Parton, reading, and Mary Oliver’s poetry.

I would love to create your ceremony just the way you want it, with heart and finesse.
